The brief was simple - to design and build an engaging exhibition stand for Sony Music for this year’s Spring Fair. The results definitely had the ‘X-Factor!’. Sony Music was exhibiting at the Birmingham’s NEC to raise awareness of the options around revenue generation from music within the UK’s retail sectors. The licensing of Sony artists and enterprises such as X Factor can enable retailers to offer official merchandise such as branded compilations, gift sets, posters and clothing.
J2 created a truly unique solution that stopped visitors in their tracks, encouraging them to engage with the stand and relate to it. We created oversized CD racks which also served as storage and presentation units for maximum efficiency. We then designed a large backdrop screen to draw the visitor in and to focus on four large LCD screens for additional engagement. An array of music legends were selected which saw visitors stop, engage and look for their own favorites. This process enabled Sony Music to stand out, create a buzz at the event and gave them an increased opportunity to start conversations about Sony Music Retail’s proposition.
